Jim Whitton
Jim Whitton is a Regional Director for The Hunger Project (THP), a global strategic organization committed to the end of chronic hunger. His 26 years with THP include 20 years as a major investor, volunteer spokesperson and fundraising coordinator. In 2002, after 18 years in business and more recently, community organizing in Texas, he was hired by THP. He is responsible for funding, education, and advocacy efforts in many parts of the US. He has led investor trips to Malawi, Senegal, Ghana, Mexico, Bangladesh and India. A recent member of the Clinton Global Initiative, Jim loves developing creative partnerships. He questions whether most international efforts to address hunger and poverty may be compromised by misconceptions about the nature of the challenge. His optimism is fueled by seeing what happens when women and men on the front lines of ending their own hunger are empowered as leaders and become the authors of their own development.
